Third Point Raises Stake in Integrated Electrical Services (IESC) to 6.4%

In a 13G filing released to the SEC, Third Point LLC disclosed a 6.4% stake (990K shares) in Integrated Electrical Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: IESC) . This is up from the 580K share stake the firm disclosed in a quarterly 13F filing.

Integrated Electrical Services, Inc. is a national provider of electrical solutions to the commercial and industrial, residential and service markets.

Hedge fund Third Point LLC was founded in 1995 by rabble-rousing investor Daniel S. Loeb.

Goldman Sachs Raises Stake in Brightpoint (CELL) to 10.2%

In a 13G filing released to the SEC mid-day, Goldman Sachs Asset Management disclosed a 10.2% stake (5.1 million shares) in Brightpoint, Inc. (Nasdaq: CELL). This is up from the approximately 2.07 million share stake the investment firm disclosed in a quarterly filing with the SEC.

Brightpoint, Inc is a global leader in the distribution of wireless devices and in providing customized logistic services to the wireless industry

Goldman Sachs Raises Stake in Group 1 Automotive (GPI) to 11.4%

In a 13G filing released to the SEC mid-day, Goldman Sachs Asset Management disclosed a 11.4% stake (2.7 million shares) in Group 1 Automotive (NYSE: GPI). This is up from the approximately 704K share stake the investment firm disclosed in a quarterly filing with the SEC.

Group 1 owns 93 automotive dealerships comprised of 134 franchises, 33 brands and 29 collision service centers in California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma and Texas.

Icahn Raises Stake in Imclone Systems (IMCL) From 12.3% to 12.7%

Imclone Systems is famous for it's Martha Stewart scandal. Imclone researches and develops growth factor blockers and anti-cancer vaccines.
