Yahoo! Goes To Asia

Stocks: (YHOO)(DELL)(GOOG)

Yahoo! has just signed a deal with Asian PC giant Acer to put a co-branded search toolbar on every computer that Acer sells. Yahoo! will be the default search engine on all of these machines.

Pretty nifty.

According to the China Post, Acer is now the No.4 supplier of notebooks in China. The newspaper says that Acer's global share should approach 6% by the end of the year.

According to Gartner, Acer is now the fastest growing PC maker in the US as well.

The deal by Yahoo! at least keeps it in the PC bundling game. Google recently signed a deal with Dell to ship the search engine's software in the PC manufacturer's machines.

There are still a few very large PC companies that have not wed at search company.

Let the games begin.
