Asian markets fell sharply.
The Nikkei was off 1.7% to 16,012. Canon was off 1% to 5870. Daiwa Securities was off 2% to 1406. Fuji Photo was off 1.4% to 4290. Fujitsu was off 2.5% to 924. Hitachi was off 2.7% to 725. Honda was off 2.8% to 3890. Japan Air was up .4% to 230. NEC was down 2.9% to 667. NTT was down 2% to 584000. Docomo was was off 1.1% to 179000. Sharp was off 2.4% to 2010. Softbank was up 1.4% to 2210. Sony was down 1.5% to 4970. Toshiba was was down 2% to 799. Toyota was down 1.9% to 6210.
The Hang Seng was off 1% to 17,081. Cathay Pacific was down 1.6% to 14.46. China Mobile was down 1.3% to 51. China Netcom was down 1.2% to 13.5. HSBC was down .9% to 139.3. Lenovo was down 3% to 2.88. PCCW was off .4% to 4.86.
The KOSPI was off .4% to 1,351.
The Straits Times was down .8% to 2,505.
The Shanghai Composite was down 7% to 1,661.
