Europe Market Report 9/22/2006 VW, British Air, Barclays Off Sharply

European markets were off sharply at 5.15 AM New York time.

The FTSE was off 1.2% to 5,829. Barclays was down 1.9% to 656.5. BEA Systems was down 1.5% to 388.25. BP was up .1% to 579.5. British Air was down 1.9% to 425.75. BT was down 1.7% to 255.25. GlaxoSmithKline was down 1.8% to 1401. Prudential was down 1.1% to 616. Reuters was down 1.2% to 424.75. Unilever was down .5% to 1286. Vodafone was off 1.3% to 114.75.

The DAXX was down. 1.1% to 5,897. BASF was down 1% to 62.43. Bayer was off 1.2% to 38.68. BMW was off 1.4% to 40.66. DaimlerChrysler was down 1.2% to 39.02. DeutscheBank was off 1.2% to 92.75. Deutsche Telekom was off 1.4% to 12.19. SAP was off 1.4% to 153.05. VW was off 2.1% to 65.26. Siemens was down 1.2% to 66.76.

The CAC 40 was off 1.1% to 5,152. Alcatel was down .9% to 9.31. AXA was down 1.2% to 28.82. France Telecom was down 1.3% to 17.49. ST Micro was down 2.2% to 13.05. Vivendi was down 1.4% to 27.72.
