Elecronic Arts (ERTS) Trading Up On Earnings

Electronic Arts (ERTS) was trading up 6% at $56.20 in after-hours trading after beating estimates and guidance. It closed up 0.45% at $53.00 in normal trading today.

Electronic Arts (ERTS) reported EPS $0.07 versus consensus estimates of $0.02 before items; and revenues were $784 million versus consensus estimates of $672 million. The strong sales of Madden 2007 had already made this a winning quarter, but the guidance is helping too.

The company is guiding next quarter to $0.50 to $0.60 instead of consensus estimates of $0.56. It is also forecasting revenues in the $1.2B to $1.3B vs. consensus estimates of $1.2+ Billion. It also sees FY07 $0.55 to $0.70 vs. consensus estimates of $0.56; and sees FY07 revenues $2.95B to $3.125B up from $2.8B-$3.0B prior and compared to consensus estimates of $2.95B.
